This page has been created to help members of the Pima community and others interested in learning more about a four day school week. This includes articles, videos and published materials providing information about this alternative schedule.
NEXT MEETING
There will be another Public Forum on Wednesday, May 2, at 6:00 pm in the District Cafeteria.
As a parent in Duncan Schools, many students, parents, and teachers enjoyed the 4 day week. Due to one class' low test scores, the state recommended we stop and we've wanted it back ever since, but our administration has been reluctant to go back. I'd like to make a suggestion from our experiences here. Make Monday your day off. We had Fridays off, and there are many doctors and dentists closed on Fridays. So teachers and students still took days off. Also, we usually had sports on Fridays, so the buildings could not be completely shut down, and we did not save as much money as could have been. We may be attending Pima schools next year because we are considering a move and we are a big fan of 4 day weel.
Only comments that identify the person making the comment will be posted. Anonymous comments will be read and shared with the appropriate parties within the district, but will not be shared with the public.
